Project Location: Norway

Industry: Seafood Processing

Application: Seafood Concentrate Filtration

Equipment: 6-Bag Filter Housing

Model: D26

Filter Bags: 5 μm Polypropylene

Housing Material: 316L Stainless Steel

Supplier: YuanLv Filter

Seafood concentrate can contain fine meat particles and other suspended solids that need to be removed before the product reaches the filling stage. For a seafood processor in Norway, insufficient particle removal was affecting both product quality and the reliability of downstream filling equipment.

The processor needed a filtration arrangement that could provide finer particle retention without adding unnecessary complexity to the production line.

Why a 6-Bag Configuration Was Used

For this application, the filtration requirement was not simply a matter of selecting a filter with a smaller rating. The housing configuration and filter bag specification also had to suit the production process.

YuanLv Filter supplied a D26 6-bag filter housing fitted with 5 μm polypropylene filter bags. The six bags operate within the same housing, providing multiple filtration elements for the concentrate stream.

The 5 μm bags were selected to retain the fine meat particles and other suspended impurities that had been passing through the previous filtration stage. This helped create a more suitable filtration barrier before the filling equipment.

The housing was manufactured from 316L stainless steel. For a food-processing application, this provides a durable stainless-steel construction that can be cleaned as part of routine equipment maintenance.

What Changed After Installation

The new filtration arrangement addressed both sides of the original problem.

The concentrate was filtered more effectively before filling, reducing the amount of unwanted solid material entering the downstream equipment. At the same time, the improved filtration helped reduce interruptions caused by accumulated particles.

According to the project results:

• Filling equipment blockage frequency decreased by 75%.

• Fine meat particles and suspended impurities were removed more effectively.

• The seafood concentrate received positive market feedback.

The improvement was therefore not limited to filtration performance. More reliable solids removal also helped make the filling stage more stable.

A Practical Bag Filter Solution for Food Processing

This Norway project illustrates an important consideration when using bag filtration in food-processing applications: the housing and filter bags need to be treated as one filtration configuration.

Bag quantity, filtration rating, housing material and sealing arrangement can all affect how the equipment fits into an existing production line. A configuration that works for one liquid product may not be appropriate for another.

As a manufacturer of industrial filter housings, YuanLv Filter provides customized bag filter housing solutions for liquid filtration applications. Housing size, bag quantity, materials, connections and other configuration details can be adapted to the process requirements.

For this seafood processing project, the combination of a D26 6-bag housing, 5 μm polypropylene filter bags and 316L stainless steel construction provided a practical filtration solution and helped reduce downstream filling equipment blockages.
