A fruit juice processing plant in Guangdong needed to improve filtration performance during the juice clarification stage.
The existing plate-and-frame filtration system required frequent cleaning because fruit pulp residues and cellulose fibers accumulated on the filter cloth. This increased maintenance work and interrupted the production process.
The plant therefore looked for a filtration configuration that could provide greater filtration capacity while making routine filter replacement and maintenance more manageable.
YuanLv Filter supplied a YDS-D12 12-bag filter housing for the clarification process.
The housing uses 12 filter bags installed in parallel, providing a larger combined filtration area within one filtration vessel. The system was used to remove fruit pulp residues, yeast cells and suspended particles from the juice.
Compared with the previous plate-and-frame arrangement, the multi-bag configuration simplified the filtration setup and reduced the need to repeatedly open and clean filter plates.
The filter bags perform the particle separation, while the filter housing provides the structural enclosure required for the filtration process.
Following the upgrade, the plant reported improvements in both filtration efficiency and maintenance frequency.
• Filtration efficiency increased by approximately 40%.
• Routine maintenance was reduced from daily or every-other-day cleaning to approximately once a week.
• The clarified juice reached a reported turbidity of below NTU 1.
The upgraded configuration helped the plant reduce manual maintenance while maintaining a more consistent clarification process.
